on Sunday 19 April, Parliament Lawns in nipaluna/Hobart became a place of grief, solidarity and resistance as people gathered for the What Were You Wearing Australia standstill rally against domestic, sexual and family violence.
The rally was a call for more than awareness.
It was a call for action: proper frontline funding, the criminalisation of AI-generated sexual abuse material, trauma-informed first responders, free nationwide support for victim-survivors, and investment in primary prevention. In a country where 2 in 5 women have experienced violence since the age of 15, these demands are not abstract. They are urgent.
